RC North Calcutta was sponsored by Rotary Club of Calcutta during 1978-79 and
granted charter on 06.06.79. Charter Presentation ceremony was held on 28.06.79

person in creating history through his accomplishments. RC North Calcutta is
based on friendship and active fellowship evidenced by the return of members who
had once left our club, 3 of such members got their readmission. Our members
believe in :
Recorded club events under Club-Service, Vocational Service, Community Service
and International Service which are as follows.
1. Rtn. Arjun Biswas distinguished himself to be the first member of the club to become PHF in 1983-84. Rtn. Arjun Biswas was selected as sergent-at-Arms at the R I convention at Birmingham U. K.
2. Rtn. Nirmal Chowdhury and Rtn. Biresh Daw attended Rotary Conference at Dhaka in Bangladesh.
3. In 1984-85, the monthly Bulletin "Northern Venture" was converted to weekly Bulletin and won prize from District in different years including 2nd prize in 2000-2001.
4. In 1995-96, Inner Wheel Club of North Calcutta was formed under the leadership of Anne Ruby Biswas as President.
5. The Club Meeting started at Mahajati Sadan, Thereafter, venue was shifted to Scottish Church College, Bharat Chamber of Commerce and then to great Eastern Hotel. Further venue was shifted to Hotel Lindsay and at present at Nehru Children's Museum to get more soother breeze.
6. Rotaract Club of North Calcutta was formed on 26.08.91 with 33 members and received charter in a gracious ceremony on 25.06.92.
7. PP Rtn. S. S. Samanta received District Governor's citation for his outstanding service for the District as Chairman of attendance Committee.
8. PP Rtn. Gopinath Ghosh was selected GSE team leader in 1998-99 and serving the District as Asst. Governor.
9. In 1980-81 first membership roaster was published.
10. In 1997-98 the "Anandamath School Project" at Icchapore, 24 Parganas (N) was successfully imple¬mented with the aid of matching grant for the benefit of 1200 students.
11. "Rotary Information 100" a booklet was published during the year.
12. Under Vocational Service Artisan School was set up in 1997-98 at Calcutta Orphange School for training in electrical jobs to unemployed youth in association with RCAEI. Tailoring units were opened for training needy women and it continues.
13. In 1997-98, Club co-hosted the District Assembly at Netaji Indor Stadium.
14. In 1998-99 the Club by Laws were amended and new edition circulated to all members.
15. The Nabadisha health check-up programme for street children was inaugurated in January 1999 in association with Calcutta Police at Shyampukur Police Station and this programme continued till 2001.
16. The Club donated Rs. 30,000/- to a needy cardiac patient for his treatment.
17. In 1997-98, Midday Meals were provided through out the year to 30 street children of Soul.
18. The club donated a substantial amount to District hospital project at Salt Lake City, Disaster Relief fund for the families of Kargil Victims.
19. The Club distributed 30 tricycles to Physically handicapped person.
20. The Club organized a seminar on AIDS awareness.
21. Organised Career Counselling and guidance course.
22. Organised a debate on Betting in Cricket to create Public awareness.
23. Maintained 77-80% attendance on average in RWMS in 2002-2003.
24. Holding attendance lotteries regularly at RWMS.
25. Arranged photo identity cards of members.
26. The club's Silver Jubilee Installation Meeting was a memorable event in 2002-2003 in which wrist watches, T-shirts with Rotary emblems were given to all our members.
27. The club organized Blood Group testing and Bone Density testing in 2002-2003.
28. The club arranged a Seminar on "Face to Face with Young Generations" on 19.09.2002 at Rotary Sadan.
29. The club inaugurated Silver Jubilee Medical Unit on 17.07.2002.
30. Club provided furniture & equipment to a Hospital at Kondolia, Murshidabad, W. B.
31. Club Provided 15 Tubewells in different villagers of West Bengal.
32. More than 1000 IOL Surgery during last 4 years.
33. Heat Check-up & ECG Camp held during the year.
34. IOL Camps, distribution of Tricycles, Wheel Chairs, Almirahs, Aquaguard, Spectacles and Tubewell.
35. 2005-06:
- A grand Polio Rally of more than 500 school children, teachers, guardians, Rotarians, Annes, Chil¬dren and 40 Rickshawpullers in Polio vests and caps participated.
- A Seminar on Mental Pollution and Human Values was organised at Swami Vivekananda's Ancestral House. An inspiring speech was delivered by Swami Jitatmanandaji.
- Vocational Centre 'Prayash' at Jodhpur Park.
- Baby Fashion Show and Blowing the conch shell contest. RCNC flowed this new idea.
- "Banedi Pujar Anginay" a photographic feature to show how the generians octa and nona could balance a tradition past with present.
